The UNIDRY system includes calcium silicate panels and wedges, levelling mortar, primer, water-based paint and plaster mesh. All the products of the UNIDRY line are characterized by high vapour permeability.
The installation does not require special equipment and does not require extraordinary expenses; UNIDRY panels can be cut and shaped with simple cutting tools without producing excessive dust.
Internal insulation is a valid alternative to the so-called external insulation layer and has several advantages over it:
rooms heat up more quickly because there is no need to heat the perimeter walls
reduced insulation thicknesses are sufficient
it is very simple to create and can be implemented inside individual housing units in a residential building
it is particularly useful in the case of buildings with artistic or monumental facades.
Reaction to fire classification A1
The reaction to fire classification determines how much (if any) a material contributes to the spread of flames. Decision 2000/147/EC provides that certain materials, including calcium silicate elements, are classified as A1 non-combustible without need for testing.
REI 240 Fire resistance
Fire resistance is the ability of a construction element to maintain its strength characteristics for a given time under the action of fire. Calcium silicate elements are classified up to REI 240 for the protection of steel beams, tie rods and columns.
Thermal conductivity
Thermal conductivity (λ) is the ability, specific to each material, to transmit heat regardless of shape and size. Good insulation has a low coefficient of thermal conductivity. UNIDRY: λ=0,062 W/mK
Vapour resistance
The vapour diffusion resistance coefficient (μ) is the resistance of the material to the diffusion of water vapour inside it, regardless of thickness and is a comparative value. It is assumed that the minimum resistance is that of air and we place air μ=1
UNIDRY: μ=2,5
Basic pH
The pH is the scale for measuring the acidity or basicity of a solution. It conventionally assumes values between 0 (maximum acidity) and 14 (maximum basicity). Distilled water at 25°C corresponds to the average value pH=7.
UNIDRY pH=10.3
LEMON pH=2.5
BLEACH pH=12
Damaged walls must be treated with a biocidal solution;
The surfaces to which the UNIDRY adhesive must adhere must be impregnated with the UNIDRY primer;
All you need to cut or shape UNIDRY panels are simple woodworking tools
After and during the laying of the panels, the UNIDRY adhesive must be used for the joints, for the laying of the plaster mesh and the final levelling;
For the final finish, it is necessary to use UNIDRY breathable paint, which ensures the same vapour permeability as the calcium silicate panels and adhesive.
