Unistara was set up in 1984 with the spirit of enterprise of a small group of Managers having professional experience in the refractory market. With its agile and flexible commercial structure after only a few years Unistara had already reached a position as an important distributor of refractory materials on the Italian market. As representatives of qualified international manufacturers, besides the takeover of Uniref in 1994 together with its seven branch offices with warehouses situated in the principal industrialized areas in Italy, have been the fundamental factors that have contributed to the company’s growth and from 2000 to 2004 the turnover has increased by over 55%.

Today Unistara has its head office situated in Genoa, and its warehouses cover a surface of 30.000 sqm of storage space of which 12.000 sqm are under cover.
